Design Review & Specifications
Before a transformer is built, we verify it should be. Independent electrical and mechanical design reviews — pre- and post-award — checked against IEC/IEEE standards and your own specification, using our proprietary in-house software to independently recompute and confirm every manufacturer design.

Inspections & Testing

Partner of RMS Energy (USA)
In 2025 TATC entered an alliance with RMS Energy in the USA, broadening our team of experts and extending our scope of services into substations.

Managing directors
Founded TATC in 2011 after a 40-year career spanning transformer test field, design, R&D and manufacturing, including leadership roles at Siemens Transformers, ELIN Transformers and VA TECH ELIN in Austria and the USA. Holds a Master's degree in Extra High Voltage Engineering from the University of Graz and is an active IEEE member.
Leads TATC's Vienna office, overseeing the GmbH's business operations and client relationships alongside co-Managing Director Edgar Trummer.
Core team — senior engineers
30+ years in the transformer business across engineering, project and general management. Former CEO of Royal Smit Transformers (Netherlands) and Siemens Transformers Weiz (Austria), and VP of Siemens' Transformer Division PT&D (USA).
Former CEO of ASTA Elektrodraht GmbH and head of VA TECH's global Transformer Life-Cycle Management business, responsible for 33 service entities worldwide, plus VA TECH ELIN's transformer service department.
Power and special transformer design, technology and manufacturing background at JST Transformateurs, ABB Power Technologies, Hyundai Heavy Industries and Ganz Ansaldo. Developed TCal, TATC's in-house transformer calculation software. Active CIGRE member (A2 study committee).
PhD in chemical engineering; with Hydro-Québec's IREQ since 1970. Originator of the Duval Triangle and Pentagon methods for dissolved gas analysis, used worldwide. Holds 16 patents and 90+ published papers. Fellow of IEEE and the Chemical Institute of Canada.
In the transformer industry since 2008, specializing in transient-behavior simulation — lightning and switching impulses, GIC events. Co-developed the STATEM and TRANEM simulation tools used by manufacturers and researchers globally. Co-founded Seitlinger Software Solutions (2018).
MSc in Computer Science, University of Edinburgh. Since 2007, developing simulation software for stationary and transient electric/magnetic network behavior, plus the interfaces used to run it. Co-founded Seitlinger Software Solutions (2018) and co-owns Seitlinger Power Engineering GmbH.

Beyond our core team, TATC works with a network of independent inspection partners embedded close to OEM factories worldwide — plus additional inspectors available for rapid deployment on short notice. This local proximity is how we keep travel cost down and response time fast, often with engineers who share the OEM staff's native language.
